Another Conference Success - Thanks to the Toronto ABI Network!
Introduction
For those of you subscribed to our blogs, you likely recall reading about our experience at the Brain Injury Association of Peel and Halton (BIAPH) annual Health Advocates Education conference a couple weeks ago. Key Metrix was fortunate enough to be involved in another conference this past week, and we were once again impressed with the success the virtual conference format had to offer!
Innovation in Action
The Toronto ABI Network held their annual conference on November 12th and 13th, and it was another example of the ingenuity and creativity that has come to light during the turbulent year that is 2020. The team at the Toronto ABI network had to shift their usually in-person conference to a virtual setting.This meant all presentations, booth setups and conference prizes were completed online.
The online program used by the Toronto ABI Network to carry out this virtual conference was called Remo. This program allows conference attendees to listen to presentation speakers in the main online building and ask questions during the presentation to develop a better understanding of the content. There were periodic breaks between presentations where a second building called the network and sponsor building provided the opportunity for online attendees to connect with conference sponsors. There were so many attendees and sponsors at this conference that there were actually multiple floors in this networking and sponsor building that attendees could travel to. This created a dynamic and interactive conference experience that simulated a real-life conference where you could move from booth to booth and interact with different agencies who bring different value to the rehabilitation industry.
The Toronto ABI Network team did the impossible: they made things feel like normal again, even if it was only for a couple of days. The conference was designed to encourage human connectivity and conversation, and for many of us, that's been lacking from our daily lives for quite some time now. Attendees were given the freedom to ask questions and interact with companies while also being offered a guided itinerary that featured industry leading professional presentations. It was an amazing balance of freedom and structure that simulated a real-life conference experience. The Toronto ABI network also included a scavenger hunt trivia game for fun and to encourage attendees to interact with conference sponsors and learn more about their business.
Supporting the Community
You might be wondering why Key Metrix felt inclined to right a blog about our experience at the Toronto ABI Network. The truth is, we felt that acknowledging the hard work from our friends at the Toronto ABI Network was the right thing to do. Their ability to put together a fun, creative, and impactful event for attendees not only improves the rehabilitation industry as a whole, but it also provided the opportunity for people to connect with one another again. Their hard work and ingenuity in designing the conference is once again a testament to humans' ability to make the best out of less than ideal circumstances. Key Metrix knows the impact this current pandemic has had on businesses and people alike, and this conference helped bring some light into what has been a dark year, and we're grateful for that.

We were also able to share our own product information and discuss the upcoming launch of our new rehabilitation intelligence platform, Alytx, a major development at Key Metrix that we excited to share!
Our conversations with conference attendees and sponsors reminded us of why we're in this industry. There is an ongoing need to use objective data to help establish fair outcomes in the rehabilitation industry. We really enjoyed talking with other rehabilitation stakeholders who were hopping to accomplish similar goals, and that serves as motivation to continue to develop our product to make it the best it can be.
Next Steps
The team at Key Metrix left the conference feeling encouraged not only about our own company, but also about the rehabilitation industry in general. The Toronto ABI Network reminded us of the good-hearted people that work in this industry, and we look forward to ongoing dialogue with those agencies to continue to help individuals on their rehab journey.
